We offer a carefully curated selection of award-winning single-estate Japanese green tea, which we source directly from exceptional tea artisans who practice traditional tea-crafting.

On their estates in the pristine mountains of rural Kumamoto, Japan, these eco-responsible grower-artisans control every step of their teamaking, from planting and harvesting to packaging and shipping directly to us.

Our green tea is prepared guricha style, for a refreshing yet soothing flavor — simple yet complex. Small-batch harvesting seals in the green tea's fresh flavor and natural goodness.

Mellow Monk travels the hills and valleys of Kumamoto to find the best grower-artisans of green tea. We cultivate long-term, face-to-face relationships with them.

These independent grower-artisans have been making tea for generations, crafting their single-estate tea only from leaves they harvest themselves on their own tea estates.

Mellow Monk is certified sustainable.

Mellow Monk growers are all certified under Japan's Eco Farmer program. The Eco Farmer program is overseen by the Japanese government's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries. Its goal is to benefit consumers and the environment by promoting environmentally responsible farming methods.
